Gatwick Fire and Rescue

Why Choose Gatwick?

Gatwick Airport is the world’s busiest single runway operation handling over 35 million passengers each year.

All of our Instructors are current operational Fire Managers or Firefighters. This means they can offer a wide range of skills in various disciplines that have been developed in the workplace and are able to share the latest thinking around modern day airport requirements and aircraft fire fighting techniques.

They are all Gatwick-based with many years experience dealing with a wide range of emergencies and incidents. All of our instructors are trainer and assessor qualified

We have impressive, state-of-the-art training facilities that include

  • A multi-million pound Aircraft Fire Simulator that can simulate over 32 different fire and smoke scenarios
  • A multi complex villa system for Fire Behaviour and confined access training
  • A Method of Forced Entry training rig
  • A designated extrication and rescue facility
  • Additionally, within the Fire Training area there are dedicated classrooms, wet and dry changing facilities, and a kitchen unit

We are easily accessible by road and rail, and most major airports have direct flights to Gatwick.
