Executive Heat

A course aimed at directors and managers who need to understand, develop and implement fire-risk mitigation strategies competently in the workplace, this course gives expert insight into fire behaviours in real-life situations.

With state of the art facilities located on the airfield at Gatwick Airport, delegates will face a valuable variety of live fire situations whilst supervised and coached by operational fire fighters, qualified instructors and fire safety professionals.

 

Through active participation, attendees will be able to contextualise the risk and associated impact of fires in buildings and workplaces. By bringing these experiences back into their own working environment, they will  be able to communicate and develop fire risk mitigation strategies, including:

 

  • life safety (employees & visitors)
  • property protection
  • business continuity

 

This is a uniquely delivered educational experience not available anywhere else in the U.K.

Course details

The event is held at our operational fire station and fire training ground situated on the airfield at a Gatwick Airport.

Delegates will:

  • be supervised, coached and educated by operational fire fighters and fire safety professionals.
  • be given the opportunity to experience what is feels like to be confronted by flashovers, backdrafts and smoke effects in controlled fire conditions.
  • be fully kitted out in fire fighting kit and breathing apparatus.
  • see the business impact of previous fire incidents around the UK.
  • gain insight into current fire legislation and be able to ask questions relating to your business to fire safety professionals.

 

Delegates will be met and transported from the South Terminal across the airfield to the Gatwick Airport Fire Station. They will also be transported to/from the state of the art training facility in an operational fire appliance (where available) to conduct a number of interactive lessons in the chemistry of fire.

 

Attendee Numbers

The event is run with a minimum of 8 and maximum of 12 attendees.

 
Event Cost

Cost per attendee is £595 (plus std rate VAT) per person. Discounts are available for groups of 9 or more.

Attendee Requirements
  • A valid passport is required to proceed through security at Gatwick Airport.
  • Normal airport security measures apply i.e. no liquids or gels over 100ml, no sharp items etc.
  • Attendees are asked to bring a long sleeve cotton top and tracksuit bottoms (or similar) to wear beneath the fire fighting kit.
  • Towels and shower gel are provided

 

Fitness

The course is not strenuous, but delegates must be reasonably fit and healthy to take part. A health questionnaire is filled out prior to the practical sessions.

Course outline
