To enable students to devise and deliver theoretical and practical sessions in flashover and Backdraught, safety and competently. The learning outcomes are aligned to the BTEC Level 3 award in Compartment Fire Behaviour Training.

Compartment Fire-Fighting Training
Gatwick is delivering CFFT courses in conjunction with London Fire Brigade and West Sussex Fire & Rescue service, the courses will see years of joint working between the services to provide a safer method of tackling compartment fires.
The west Sussex contract is for the next ten years and London is for two years.

Breathing Apparatus Instructors Courses (BAI)
Gatwick fire has delivered two BAI courses in the past eighteen months with more planned for 2011, delegates from West Sussex Fire service along with Newquay airport took part in the physically demanding course over two weeks.
Breathing Apparatus Wearers Course (BAW)
This course ensures the students are competent in the technical and practical aspects of breathing apparatus.
